Privacy Policy
SumWize is private by default. Here is what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

The short version
- The numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser. We only receive them if you choose to save a result to an account or send them to an advisor through an embedded calculator.
- You can use every calculator without an account.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits, and our own Lodestar Pulse tool to see which parts of a page people click. Pulse uses no cookies and never records what you type.
- We don't sell personal information and we don't show ads.
Who we are
SumWize (sumwizecalculators.com) is a library of free financial calculators operated by SumWize Calculators and built and maintained by Lodestar Digital. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
Information we collect
Calculator inputs. Calculations run in your browser. The values you enter are not sent to us when you use a calculator, and they are gone when you close the page. If you use "Copy link", your inputs are written into the link itself so the page can reopen with them; they are only shared with whoever you send that link to.
Saved results (accounts). If you have a Pro or advisor account and choose to save a result, we store that result, its name and the inputs behind it with your account so you can open it later. You can delete saved results from your dashboard at any time.
Account information. If you create an account, we store your name, email address, your plan and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password itself. Advisor and institution accounts may also add a partner ID, an API key and a webhook address for their leads.
Payments. Paid plans are billed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your subscription status.
Embedded calculators and leads. Advisors and other sites can place SumWize calculators on their own pages. When one of those embeds loads, we record which calculator loaded and which account it belongs to, so the account owner can see usage. If the site owner has turned on lead capture and you choose to send your results, we receive the name and email you enter and the calculator inputs, and pass them to that site owner (by email, and to their CRM if they have connected one). From then on, that site owner's own privacy policy applies to how they use it.
Contact and demo requests. If you email us or use the demo request form, we receive what you choose to send, such as your name, email, company and message. The form is processed by Formspree.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic in aggregate, such as which pages are visited, how people arrive, and general device and country information. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this.
Clicks and scrolling. We record anonymous clicks and scrolling on this site, without cookies or anything you type, to improve its design. This uses Lodestar Pulse, a tool run by Lodestar Digital. It records which element was clicked, how far down the page you scrolled, how long the page was open, the page you came from, and your device type (phone, tablet or desktop). To group the pages of one visit, it keeps a random ID in your browser tab's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It does not record your IP address, form contents or keystrokes, and it does not run if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. It is turned off on account pages and inside calculators embedded on other sites. Pulse data is deleted after about 13 months.
How we use information
We use information to run the calculators and your account, process payments, send the emails you ask for (such as password resets and lead notifications), respond to your messages, and improve the site. We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not show ads on SumWize.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators keep working without them; only signing in needs the sign-in cookie.

Each provider handles data on our behalf under its own terms and privacy practices.
How long we keep information
Account information and saved results are kept while your account is open. Leads are kept in the account that received them until that account owner deletes them or closes the account. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to respond and follow up. Pulse click and scroll data is deleted after about 13 months.
Your choices and rights
You can use SumWize without an account and without sending us anything. If you have an account, you can delete saved results yourself and cancel your plan at any time. To access, correct or delete your account information, or to ask any privacy question, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, the sign-in cookie is sent only over HTTPS, and card details are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is less to protect.
Children's privacy
SumWize is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell account holders by email.
